How to Unclog and Clean Your Drain With 1 Cup of Salt

Salt is a versatile condiment that can be used in cooking and for some household remedies and it can be very beneficial. Salt also has the ability for water retention that can prevent dehydration.

 This little trait can be very dangerous if you eat salt excessively. Other than in the culinary sciences salt can be used for a lot of other things and can treat different issues in your home.

For instance, many people use it to shovel up snow in the winter.

Home remedies use many of the thing we consume daily and it is no surprise that salt has many different properties. It can clean the sink, remove the iron stickiness, clean the bathtub and unclog almost any drain.

  • ¼ cup of baking soda
  • ¼ cup of salt
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1 pound of water


Mix the dry ingredients together and like that pour them into the afflicted drain. After that add the half a cup of white vinegar. You will notice how the vinegar reacts with the salt and baking soda and you will notice foam.

Leave this to work for 15 minutes uninterrupted and then boil the one pound of water and pour it all directly to the drain to wash out and powder and unclog the drain.

This is a completely natural alternative for cleaning the drains and it does not contain any chemicals. The ingredients combined together can have a good effect and can penetrate even the very tough clogs.
