The most versatile vegetable nowadays is definitely the onion. Onion is used in many dishes and in many forms, but in case you didn’t know, you can also use onions for many other things and here, we’re going to present you some of them

Storage:

Keep garlic, shallots, and onions fresh for up to two months by taking a hole punch. Then, make a few holes in a paper bag. Put your onions on the bag, seal with a paper clip, and store unrefrigerated in the pantry for two months or longer.

Cutting:

You can use a stainless steel hair pick as a guide. It will help your knife skills pick up quickly, giving you nice, even cuts and saving you time in prep.

Onion skins!

Onion skins can be used as a base for soup stock. You’ll get excellent flavor, but the broth will also get an amazing brown color. You can also use all your veggie cuttings and skins in making soup stocks for that matter. Prepare bread by just replacing about 5% of the flour you would use with onion skins. Your bread will be incredible.

Onion skins can also help you against cramps! Cook two handfuls of onion skins in water 10-20 minutes on low. Then, strain the skins. Drink one cup every night before bed and you’ll notice very quickly that those cramps are gone!
