Homemade Korean Kimchi Recipe
- 2 heads shredded Napa cabbage
- 3 cloves of crushed garlic
- 5 scallions
- 2 minced jalapenos
- 1 teaspoon of powdered ginger
- 2 tablespoons of crushed chili pepper
- 2 tablespoons of raw honey
- ½ onion head
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
You will need to prepare a bigger glass jar with a securable lid in order to store the kimchi.
Next off, combine all the ingredients mentioned above already prepared as they should only do not add the honey and salt since they start the fermentation process.
Take 2 cups of the already prepared mixture and put it in the blender and add the honey and salt here. Blend the mixture and afterwards put it in the already prepared jars.
Press the mixture down good and on top of it place a few cabbage leaves rolled up.
After this the fermentation process begins and you should store this prepared jar at room temperature for about 1 week. After this period of time it will be ready to consume and once opened, it should be stored in the fridge.
