10% of the asthmatic people are allergic to aspirin, or products which contain salicylic acid (the key ingredient of aspirin). It is included in fruits, some cold medications, additives, and food seasonings. The percentage increases to 30-40 among older asthmatics who suffer from nasal polyps or sinusitis.
There has been seen acute sensitivity in a small number of general population without asthma, especially those with ulcers and other bleeding conditions.
For this reason, each person need to consult a doctor before taking any medications, without applying aspirin externally if you are allergic to taking it internally.
